These are a new pair of brass shoe buckles. These were reproduced from an original pair of buckles. The buckles date during the last quarter of the 18th century and could have had stones in the openings around the ring  This buckle would have been worn for court, church, or for any dress up occasion. Shoe buckles were a part of dress in the 18th century for men or Women. The buckle measures 3" x 2" and will accept a shoe strap of 1 3/8".
