These are a new pair of Steel Reproduction Shoe Buckles. The original buckle has been found at several historical sites such as Fort Michilackina,Fort Quiatenon and on the French ship Machault that was sunk in the St. Lawrence River in 1760. The buckle would fit your persona for doing the French & Indian and Rev War time period. The buckle is a common every day shoe buckle. The buckle is made of steel and measures 2" x 1 5/8". The buckle will fit on a 1 1/8" latchet.
