This Flared ax was made for throwing. The ax is cast with 4140 steel and will hold a good edge. The overall length of the handle is 22", the ax head measures 5 1/2" long with the cutting edge measuring at 3 3/4" and weighs 1.40 lbs. Also the cutting edge is not sharp and will need to be sharpened by the customer. The handle is slimmer than most handles and slides out of your hand smooth when throwing. This is the same handle we use on our French and Hammer Pole ax. If you enjoy throwing ax's this may be a different style for you to try.
