These cuff links were reproduced from an original cuff link found on our farm along the bank of the Sandusky river near Fremont ,Ohio. There is documentation of a trading post located here. The original had some engraving on the cuff link, but was worn down just enough that we could not pick up the design with the reproduction. The links are joined together with a brass wire to form the link as we have seen other originals made this way. The cuff links are oval and measure 7/8" x 5/8" and are made of solid yellow brass. The top of the cuff links are polished with the back side left unpolished like the original cuff link. We have also have seen a similar pair of these cuff links at Fort Ticonderoga's museum. The original cuff link was made of yellow brass. That is the reason we choose to have them made in yellow brass as well. These are sold as a set meaning you will receive one set for each sleeve. Remember you will need two buttons holes made on your 18th century shirt to use cuff links. If you need a shirt made, we produce 18th century ruffled shirts. The ruffles can be at the cuff and down the front of the shirt or just a plain cuff and ruffles down the front. These cuff links will be a great addition to your 18th century gentleman persona.
