This Sword locket is attached to a sword scabbard to use to hold the sword scabbard to your double hanger, shoulder carriage or frog. We attach these to our scabbards before sewing the scabbard together. To attach these we heat the two prongs to cherry red and then quench them in cool water ,this softens the brass. We then put the prongs through the leather and bend the prongs toward the leather or you can use to small washers or brass sheet metal and peen them on to the leather. These are made of solid brass and measure 2" long 1/2" wide.
