Examples of this canteen were found at Fort Ligonier circa 1758-1766. Comes with a wooden stopper and white cord. Holds about 1 Quart. This canteen measures about 8 inches tall with stopper, 5 inches wide from side to side and 2 inches across the top. Holds 36 ounces/4.5 cups. Suitable for the French and Indian War, Revolutionary War and Civil War.

This is one of the 14 Crescent canteens found at Fort Ligonier. Made of tin plated steel and lead free solder. Comes with a cork and hemp rope shoulder sling. This canteen is lined with beeswax so it is ready to use. Hand wash and dry the canteen. Before storing your canteen give a light rub down with food grade mineral oil. Tin plated steel will develop a patina and rust a bit especially along seams..just clean with a soft cloth and non scratch cleanser.  ***DO NOT PUT IN THE DISHWASHER** DO NOT PUT HOT LIQUIDS INSIDE COLD ONLY**
