This powder measure is used for measuring black powder only. The measure is adjustable from 40 gr. to 120 gr.  This powder measure is 4 3/4" long and 1/2" in diameter, it is 3/4" in diameter where the thumb screw is.The top of the measure has a ring to attach a leather lace to keep your measure from getting lost or making it easier to get it out of your shooting pouch. The measure is made from brass and was made from an original. The thumb screw may be made of steel or brass, we have no control over which ones we recieve. You do not find many powder measures of this quality and style,which is why I like this one so well. This powder measure is for the person who is wanting something more than the typical adjustable measure you find in most sporting goods stores. The time period for using this type of measure would start during the mid 18th century, as we have seen several powder measures very simular to this measure in museums and books.
