This buckle is made of solid sheet brass and as you can see is adjustable. Buckle measures 2" across the widest part x 1 3/4" long for each halve. When put together the buckle measures 2 7/8" the first hole, second hole 2 5/8" and third hole 2 1/2" and 2" across. The buckle was worn with a linen stock or sometimes a leather stock and was worn under the shirt collar to make the collar stand up and to keep your head up. The stock it self was made with button holes on each end of the stock to attach the buckle.
