These are a new pair of yellow brass shoe buckles. The buckles date mid 18th century. The sample was taken from one found near Fort Ticonderoga. The buckle measures 2 1/2" x 2" and will accept a shoe strap of 1 3/8".
These are a new pair of yellow brass shoe buckles. The buckles date mid 18th century. The sample was taken from one found near Fort Ticonderoga. The buckle measures 2 1/2" x 2" and will accept a shoe strap of 1 3/8". These shoe buckles could be of Scottish origin. Shoe buckles were a part of dress in the 18th century for men and women and would indicate if they had some wealth. These buckles are suitable for either gender. They are sold as a pair.
